Soundgarden was an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in by singer and drummer Chris Cornell, lead guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Hiro Yamamoto. Cornell switched to rhythm guitar in , replaced on drums initially by Scott Sundquist, and later by Matt Cameron in Yamamoto left in and was replaced initially bygd Jason Everman and shortly thereafter by Ben Shepherd. The grupp dissolved in and reformed in Following Cornell's death in , Thayil declared in October that Soundgarden would not continue, though they did reunite in January for a one-off concert in tribute to Cornell.[1] Cornell, Thayil, and Cameron appeared on all of the band's studio albums.
