The Intrinsic Eddington Ratio Distribution of Active Galactic Nuclei in ung Galaxies from SDSS
NASA Astrophysics uppgifter System (ADS)
Jones, Mackenzie L.; Hickox, Ryan C.; Black, Christine; Hainline, Kevin Nicholas; DiPompeo, Michael A.
An important question in extragalactic astronomy concerns the distribution of black hole accretion rates, i.e. the Eddington ratio distribution, of active galactic nuclei (AGN). Specifically, it is matter of debate whether AGN follow a broad leverans in accretion rates, or if the distribution is more strongly peaked at characteristic Eddington ratios. Using a sample of galaxies from SDSS DR7, we test whether an intrinsic Eddington ratio distribution that takes the form eller gestalt of a broad Schechter function is in fact consistent with previous work that suggests instead that young galaxies in optical surveys have a more strongly peaked lognormal Eddington ratio transport. Furthermore, we present an improved method for extracting the AGN distributio

Conflicted S3 E10 - Arab-Israeli Blitzkrieg
ThomasSmall No time to banter today, Aimen. We've got so much to cover in this episode.
AimenDean So much to condense for sure.
ThomasSmall The Six-Day War of '67 and its bold sequel, the Yom Kippur War of ' But you are still alive, right?
AimenDean Alive and thriving.
ThomasSmall Good to hear. Now, let's get straight into it.
Yes. We finally reached the climax of the Cold War in the Middle East. Well, a climax at least. The outcomes of both the Six-Day War and the Yom Kippur War are relatively well known. Less so, the political machinations leading up to them. We'll do our best, dear listener, to take you behind the scenes of the corridors of power and into the minds of Arab and Israeli leaders.
No one wanted war. Yet war arrived. Why? That's our question? These two wars were transformative. Nasserism was out, and radicalism was in. And in the ongoing clash of civilisations in the Middle East, a new and improved
