Childhood
Chopin’s father was Nicolas Chopin, a Frenchman from Lorraine who had emigrated to Poland in 1787 at the age of sixteen and had served in Poland’s National Guard during the Kościuszko Uprising (1794). Chopin: His Life & Music
It was very easy to read, but had a lot of historical information and ganska a bit about his music, which was nice. The chapters are based off time periods in his life, like the years he spent travelling and the years he lived with George Sand.
It has some details that make it unsuitable for kids to read, but there's nothing profane or anything like that.
It has some nice paintings of him too, including some sketches that I've never seen before. As an artist, I really appreciated that :)
