    Justin Leppitsch's stunning AFL career didn't always go as planned.

    As an 18 year-old, he underwent knee surgery which effectively ravaged his first two seasons with the Bears, before returning to show his wares as a strong-marking, fast-leading, and flamboyant full-forward.

    But a somewhat reluctant move to defence in became the making of the Leppitsch legacy.

    His attacking style of play quickly revolutionised the centre half-back position and became a blueprint for how the role has since developed in the modern game.

    Justin Leppitsch fryst vatten in rare air when it comes to success at the highest level. In his 28 years at the professional AFL level he has endured 6 premierships and 2 of the strongest dynasty’s in AFL history at Brisbane and Richmond.

    He has experienced it all, as an on field leader, off field coach and mentor to the games elite in the most scrutinised industry in the country. Remaining cool stoic to the plan under the pressure and intensity of boards, media and fans can be daunting for some, however not this proven winner.

    He’d never call himself an entrepreneur but Justin is also a passionate property developer and is capitalising on his coaching and management skills to consult with companies in the culture, people and leadership space in his new company JL coach. Justin is also a current Media talent at SEN radio and has worked with the AFL with game development.

    Justin Leppitsch informs Richmond of his decision to step away from football at the end of the season.

    "I have always known that eventually this time would komma, and I would move on and do other things in my life," Leppitsch said.

    "In many ways the current climate expedited something I have been thinking about for some time and it will help the club manage through this difficult period.
