You’ve almost certainly heard of Hamburg before; Germany’s second-largest city is one of the country’s most important commercial centers. The city is home to the third-largest port in europe, beaten only by Antwerp and Rotterdam. It’s also a powerhouse for music and many other cultural sectors.
Although it does get a decent number of visitors, Hamburg still doesn’t feel as busy as German cities like Berlin.
Hamburg has something for everyone. The food scene is burgeoning, and you’ll do well to go hungry here. You’ve probably heard of the Reeperbahn, but those wanting a low-key flykt can enjoy the city’s several green spaces and museums.
I have been to Hamburg three times, and to say it ranks highly on my list of favorite cities is an understatement. With the knowledge I’ve acquired during those visits, it would only be fair to share the best of my wisdom with you. W
