    TV host Meiyang Chang goes down the memory lane

    This picture brings back fond memories of a childhood spent in Dhanbad. It was shot in my father’s (Mr Khai Chin Chang) dental clinic in the Rajender market area — a commercial hub of Dhanbad — in 1985. We couldn’t afford a flat, so one portion of dad’s clinic doubled up as our home.
    I was three years old, very naughty and loved singing and posing in front of the camera.A lot of patients used to visit my dad’s clinic. I was too young to understand his profession, but I was intrigued by why these people kept screaming sitting in a chair while my dad attended to them. I wondered why they always came in sad but left with a happy face.
    Out of curiosity, I used to hang out at the clinic most afternoons after returning from school. Mom would try to keep me away but I would find a way to spend time with dad.

    Indian actor, television host and singer (born 1982)

    Meiyang Chang (born 6 October 1982) is an Indian actor, television host, singer and a dentist. He came to prominence as a contestant on the third season of the singing reality show Indian Idol in which he was among the five finalists. He began his acting career with the YRF film Badmaash Company. He is known for his participation in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 in which he was the winner. He also participated in stunt based reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 6 in which he became 1st runner-up.

    He starred in the films, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, Sultan and Bharat. His latest work includes the web series Asur,Undekhi and Modern Love Mumbai. In 2024, he had a brief role in the thriller Ulajh.
